Credit History..
Apartment History..
"I will be fired" statements..
Medical appointments..
Money mindedness..

Blind support and appreciation of the american way of life by my countrymen...

I dont have anything more to say..

The Brahma Cult..
This is not intended as any publicity stunt; simply because the owner of this article is pretty much popular already.

But I just want to tell you all that I have now completely accepted his hypothesis and am going to preach this all over the world. No matter what!!

Even though I have some differences with what he has written there, I dont think that takes away the merit of the concept as such.

If any of you disagree, do tell me - so that I can quickly convince you...

And move on..

A movie a day.. twice over..
Last week was mixed.. At the end of it, I should thank JP, the hotel boy..

Boredom struck.. and struck hard..

When I mention this to Sandy, he says "Welcome to Seattle!".. :(

When I get bored, I do something drastic.. or atleast try to do something drastic.. Or at the very worst, try imagining myself doing something drastic..

I read a book - "Washington Drivers' license guide" - got a real moral upliftment when I finished it.. My philosophical level increased.. Was enlightened..

Boredom continued..

JP, an okay friend of mine, comes over and delivers two hindi movie casettes.. "Acha hai.. dekh lo, jab time miley.."

I had enough time.. Just not enough things.. Two half-hours later, i return both.. Even the presence of those casettes in the room was dangerous to my mental stability..

But the guy had planted an idea now.. The nearest video library was just half a mile away.. I made my own choice and picked up Shawshank Redemption.. That would have been it.. but when I was just moving out Lagaan showed up.. Just for the heck of it, I took it..

Over the weekend, I have seen them both twice.. They have drilled out the piled up boredom inside..

Shawshank Redemption had been in my list for long.. I dont see many movies, really.. So I do tend to miss out on some great ones..

This one has made me write down dialogues for quote.. I had heard most of them in quiz programmes.. and I remember how I blindly answered "Shawshank Redemption" whenever they offered a complicated dialogue as a quotation.. and struck gold 3 out of 5 times.. It has made me sit through the 5+ hours just listening to every single word that Morgan Freeman utters.. and those that Tim Robbins gives back.. twice over.. The dullness over the proceedings enhanced the beauty of the narration by ten times.. The ultimate bed-time movie.. so that you can sleep on the thoughts and the dialogues and wake up fresh.. rejuvenated..

Lagaan made me jump in joy.. shout for my team.. enjoy the Perfect Indian Fantasy.. and not to miss out, admire the beauty of Gracy Singh.. and the variety in her funny expressions.. "Mein kyoon jalne lagi? Jaley morey jhoothi!".. I loved that!!

I like to exaggerate.. but I am not doing that when I say, Lagaan has something really enjoyable about it.. The "unbelievable" factor never seems to throw up.. Atleast for me.. It is just plain enjoyment..

I can go on - pointing out to a plethora of scenes that have stolen my imagination - from both these movies.. But I am sure, my narration would be so bad compared to the original, that it may take the sting out of watching the original..

Not just for the first time, which most of you would have done, but again.. and again..

Ilayaraja, Rehman..
When Rehman gets hold of a haunting tune - like the beauty in Kannathil Muthamittal - he is elated..

He shouts "Yes, I got it!!"

When Ilayaraja gets hold of a great one - say "Poongadhave - thaal thiravaai" - he is elated..

He says "Now.. that is my habit.."

Fish and the bicycle..
Read in a serious-melancholic-morose tone..
A man needs a woman as much as a fish needs a bicycle...

True statement?

Interesting news item..
Without hearing the case and the details, be a judge and tell me who is right!! The judge or the girl!?

Rape victim protests denial of justice
NDTV Correspondent
Thursday, August 1, 2002 (Raipur):

In a bizarre case in Raipur, denial of justice to a rape victim prompted her to throw a slipper at a judge who acquitted a man accused of raping her. While the accused is free, the twenty-year-old girl is in custody.

“That man was acquitted, which is why I decided to throw a slipper at the judge,” said the victim.

The incident has shocked the people of Raipur and some lawyers admit urgent changes are required in the legal system.

“This incident is shameful because courts decide on the basis of the facts. This incident also shows that people have lost faith in the system,” said V K Munshi, Advocate.

The rape victim will remain in police custody till the courts take a decision on her future.
